About Jim Hardina

Less Miles. More Durability. Better Results.

61-Year-Old UESCA-Certified Ultra Running Coach Helping Masters Runners Over 40 Finish Strong

I’m Jim Hardina, a 61-year-old endurance athlete with over 20 years of experience pushing my limits on trails and roads. I’ve completed 18 ultras (including two 100Ks), 9 Ironman triathlons, and I’m currently training for my first 100-miler at Javelina this fall.

As a UESCA-certified Ultra Running Coach, I specialize in strength training, injury prevention, and longevity for masters athletes. At 61, I’m stronger, more durable, and better recovered than I was in my 40s—thanks to smart strength work, nutrition, and recovery strategies I now teach my athletes.

I help runners over 40 successfully complete their first ultra (especially that first 50K) while staying injury-free and building real strength and durability for the long haul. My approach is practical, realistic, and built from hard-earned experience—including several DNFs that taught me more than many of my finishes.

Whether you’re chasing your first ultra finish or aiming to go longer and stronger into your 50s, 60s, and beyond, I’ll help you train smarter, recover better, and cross that finish line with confidence.
